I've kinda had a crazy spring with school, work and all, and only got like 18 birds from a hatchery. I was gonna get some show quality silkie eggs on eBay, but I kept putting it off..I ended up not firing the 'bator up at all this spring

*Cries* and I really wanted a show quality silkie to use for Showmanship and confirmation at the fair this Labor day. SO! DOES ANYONE KNOW OF ANY SILKIE BREEDERS IN AZ that might have young stock or adults available? Any color is fine, and a cockerel or pullet it doesn't matter (I have a buff hen and lavender pullet right now and that's it, so a roo would be great!)
 
If ya wanna take a trip to New Mexico, George Mihalik has Gorgeous SQ Silkies. He is 15 min. from Albuquerque. Sandia Park. How far is that from you? He should have quite a few colors to choose from. He has Lavenders.

I have met the lady who is Sonoran Silkies...I think I will send her an email. I got a partridge pullet (named her Tosca) from her at the Tucson show a couple years ago. Unfortunetly, Tosca (who was my showmanship bird) has passed away

LAVENDER SILKIES?! Does he have a user name or email on here? I had a lavender from ideal...Until yesterday. cries: I've had really bad luck this spring. It;s kinda been a orloff year, and I just didn't get many silkies

EDIT TO SAY: I'm in Northern AZ. I don't know if my truck could make it all the way to N.M. I wonder if he would ship??

Thanks Fattie. I googled George and found his website. I emailed him, and he does have birds for sale, but he won't ship (apparently it's too warm--I don't blame him. Sky Harbor in July can be HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT). I contacted Suze, too, she has some for sale, but I havent written her back yet cuz I'm not sure when I'll be able to make it down to the valley, yet.
ALSO...I'VE BEEN WATCHING A EGGBID AUCTION for some silkie chicks from Bobbi Porto in Florida--anybody ever deal with her? I emailed to ask her if she accepts paypal...that was 4 days ago...I'm sorry, I really want to bid on those birds....but if she can't even email me back...I'm a lil skeptical

Agree with ChickenLuvr--WHY handpick birds from her...Is she a scam artist? I'd really like to know b4 I spend months of work money on birds that are screwed up! Thanks.

So I need a bird that's at least 2 months old. I really want to do showmanship with a silkie (my favorite breed) again, but if I can't find one, I'll have to do showmanship with one of the Orloffs (not really agreeable with that sort of thing). So...How old are your birds? Could you post a pic...and you don't ship, do you?
