Not sure what to do with one of my baby chicks. They are about 2 1/2 months old, we hatched them ourselves. We've been trying to integrate them with our old maids.
They spent the second night together in the coop - this morning we found one of them scalped by the others pecking on him. The other babies were even partaking in this poor event.
We've got him isolated & away from the rest of the flock. I've put neosporin on his head. He's finally started drinking some water this evening (didnt eat or drink anything all day). We noticed when he moves his beak, you can see the tendons go in & out of his head (yuckie sight to see).
He's not really making any noises, but just stands there all day.
dont know what to do. should we put him out of his misery, or do ya think he'll be able to heal?
I've got pictures, but not sure how to upload them on here.
