Here are the Ameraucana/EE pair. I call them Ebony and Ivory.

And here's my little BLRW who isn't doing well. He has gotten a bit stronger this evening, taking some Pedialtye and Poly-vi-sol (no iron) by eye dropper, and drinking when I dip his beak. I will be surprised if he is with us tomorrow but he has been lavished with love today. He fell asleep before I could take the pic. I just call him Sweet Baby.

How do you get them to stand together like that - glue their feet to the floor? You must have some trick to doing it. They are beautiful -

Okay I have to ask this, not trying to hyjack this thread, but its driving me nuts. Warden what do you do with all the chicks you hatch and how many chickens do you Have?
 
So darling! I love "the bunch of freaks" I have had groups of those in the past. Right now my d'uccles are collectively known as "the dumb hens" since we can't tell any of them apart quickly.

I hope Sweet Baby is doing better today.
 
Sweet Baby is still with us. She spent the night upstairs in the Brinsea in the laundry room. I gave her water and Pedialyte several times during the night. She's doing about the same, maybe wishful thinking tells me she's a little stronger. Thanks for asking.

And for the Hijacker: I have 7 hens in my laying flock, 6 juveniles in grow out brooders, three silkies in a Baby Mama coop, 8 Light Sussex in two breeding pens, 7 chicks in the brooder and 16 eggs in the incubator. I know I have hatched a lot of chicks. I decided when my banty got nabbed by a hawk to not have banties anymore. The tiny feather footed guys just were too slow to be safe in our yard. I didn't want to keep them cooped up all day so I sold them. I have given many chicks to families and 4 H'ers and have sold some, like the beautiful MFD's from bantyrooster. I am trying to add to my laying flock for egg color and yard ornamentation. I won't add live birds so I have to do it by hatching. That means a lot of trying to get a hen first off, and the correct coloring. In shipped eggs there is lots of loss before hatch and I have also had a few who hatched but did not survive. I am also finding out in shipped eggs, it might not even be the right breed! Yeah, little Ivory, you hear me talkin'. And the supposed-to-be-BLRW-turned-Buff Orpington in the grow out brooder.

So that is my Grand Plan, at least for this morning!
