I doubt this will stay popular for long, if it will ever be popular. But I have to start this, as I keep seeing breed threads popping up and I want my favorite breed to have one...

So let's talk about and share pictures of this amazing breed...and watch this thread slowly die a painful death...

I have two trios of Sumatras, indirectly from Tom Kernan's lines. I'm collecting eggs from the better trio and am going to hatch them.

And I need to take updated pics of them all...yeah.
 
they are an amazing breed..about five years ago i had a black sumatra trio
but the hens were sold :S once the male died of age

Sumatras are one of the few breeds I've never owned & I'm not sure why. They're one of my favorite breeds to judge. I love handling them. Their feather quality is amazing. It's like running your hand over a piece of silk. I've often said I want to buy just one Sumatra hen just so I can pet her.
 
I don't have Sumatras, but I was impressed by the two roosters I saw at the fair. They were in cages next to each other. They were formidable, threatening each other. Beautiful long tail feathers.

It was quite a sight to behold!!!
 
i plan on getting some more in the spring

my hens would caw or scream like a crow scary but i loved thier personality
