The breeder sold this chicken to us as a 1 day old fluff ball red sex link hen to be. At the time we also got some rooster sex-links to keep it company growing up. (We were concerned about how the momma hen would take to them.) This red, we call Cinnamon seemed to have the same aggressive style and speedy comb development as the boys. It seemed odd, but red sex links are girls....however, at 19 weeks, I am starting to wonder if the breeder had some kind of lapse in protocol and this is really a rooster. It is the biggest bird in my flock and just looks different from all the rest. What think ye?

I think that you have a very gorgeous roo there. It is rare that a breeder is 100% accurate when sexing chicks. So I don't find it very odd that you got a roo in the batch of chicks.

Defenitely a rooster " he has saddle feathers ". And just FYI a red sex link rooster will be white in color as a chick. The hens are a creamy yellow.
