The "freshest" chicken in Wilmington, North Carolina arguably comes from the Hardee's on Carolina Beach Road.

A live hen has been hanging out at the restaurant for months and won't budge.

Regulars call her "the one who got away" and joke that she is standing in protest against poultry eaters.​
 
Well at least she looks well fed. She should hitch a ride to Miami, FL with someone. She could join all those feral chicken colonies down there.
 
Several years ago 3 hens took up residence behind the local STS tire supply. They made it through the summer in great shape. I located where they were roosting, but someone snagged them before I got to it.
