Buff Orpington , got her April 1st, Approx 13 weeks old, feels thin but not terribly skinny...yet.
Symptoms:
I have noticed she is extremely shy, flighty compared to the rest (11 total, 6 roos, 5 hens)
Trying to catch her in the open is about like trying to catch a wild quail most of the time. I have noticed when ever I come out to feed or give treats she hangs way back. When she does finally approach food she spends forever inspecting it. It seems to me that compared to the other chickens she always turns her head completely sideways (always left eye pointing to ground) to look at food. she takes a couple of pecks and moves off from the group. I caught her laying down to eat the other day. I was able to walk up to her and pick her up (big red flag). I took her to the coop and filled the feeders with food and she stood there and ate until her crop was bulging. I don't see the other chickens bullying her and in fact she has one rooster who is very protective of her. I can't decide if she is super finicky or ill. She seems to prefer straight chicken feed to treats. She often inspects something so long before eating it the other chickens finish it all before she gets more than a few pecks. I am thinking of letting the flock out in the mornings but keeping her in until she has a full crop. Any ideas or opinions? Eyesight seems fine she can spot the flock an acre away and will run to be near them.

Sounds like maybe she is the last in the pecking order and is not getting enough to eat. If you are seeing no signs of illness, like runny poo, discharge, heavy breathing and such things, that she needs to eat more food. I would place more food dishes out so that she is always able to access them without being around the others. She just may be a really shy bird and is nervous to eat around the others. Give her her own food and water dishes and see if that helps. Also you can plump her up with treats like bread and raisins, all of which once she tastes, she should be addicted too! Good luck!

You did not mention if the BO is part of your 11 total or was added after the 11. If she was added afterwards, that would explain her behavior.

This is very typical of a bird with coccidiosis

No runny poo, she wasn't added to the flock and she will eat well if I separate her from the others. I am leaving them in the coop a little later so she will eat before I cut them loose for the day. Also noticed that last night when I went to check on the them she roosts alone as far from the others as possible in the coop. I am going with she is at the bottom of the pecking order. No runny poo, no pale comb. She was not added to the flock they all came together as itty bitty chicks. Thanks guys.
