1 x 6 deck boards for the gable ends.
This small run, 5 x13 1/2 ft, is original square footage with the "barn" . The original builder/owner used a stone foundation to keep predators from digging. He had hole in the foundation for posts and chicken wire. I have added a frame (and a roof.)
Almost complete. I don't think it will ever be completely done though. Chicken math plus when I see a better working system of some sort I like to try it out. I also have plans to add some kind of fenced in area to allow a more controlled free range for times when I can't pay enough attention to the yard. Then there are landscaping things too. For every one thing I accomplish I think I add two more to the wish list! Lol.
Panels on the west side put in place.

Start of the metal roof going on.
This is a 3 x3 space for sick bay. It's still there. I leave the door open and have only used for injured hens. Also, the inside of the coop got a limewash paint to help keep bugs, mite and lice at bay. It has helped but is need of a good recoating.
I originally put these doors and wall in about 5 feet from the back wall. It was room enough for about 13 chickens max. This year I have removed these doors due to chicken math.
