@KikisGirls That wood came out of the gymnasium of the old YMCA in our local town...probably 75 yrs old when removed and that was 20 yrs ago when we used it in the shed build. Was used on the bleachers there. They were just going to toss it out, but my brother worked there at the time and asked Dad if he wanted it. That's the original varnish on them too.
That stuff is so tough you bend ordinary nails when trying to pound them into it. Dad used BIG nails. He also built the door to the shed out of those boards. That shed was built 20 yrs ago and we just used the very last pieces of that wood last year to put up a few shelves in the shed. That wood has a history!
