The coop was made for us. We removed the window screen and screens from the vents, adding hardware cloth instead. We painted the inside walls and blackjacked the floor, changed the orientation of the roosts so that the chickens were resting on the 4" side, and added some extra locks for security. We have the nesting boxes ready, but will add them in when the chicks are older and reliably roosting on the bar. We built the run ourselves from a neighbor's old swingset. We covered it with hardware cloth attached with screws and washers, and added a buried apron of hardware cloth. We also put a roof over half of the run - solid on the side that gets direct sunlight (so the chickens get some shade) and clear on the other side so they get good light.
