Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do. 
"Little Chicken" was her name. The only broody bird I ever had. She hatched 4 wild turkey eggs all by herself. She refused to act like ANY of the other 100 birds here - She truely set herself appart. She is no longer with us. I made her a head stone and burried her under the hedge tree by the garden. The only chicken that was ever allowed to be in there... because she had manors. She is sorely missed.
