Our chickens are a large part of our little farm in the Blue Ridge mountains we recently moved to from Raleigh, NC. We re-purposed a 10'x 12' wooded building that was already there. We made an attached pen attached to a barn next to the coop. This gave our birds a large 30' x 40' secure pen. The walls of the pen are secured with 6' tall 1"x 2" welded wire with 1/2" hardware cloth on the lower 2'. The top of the pen is secured with chicken wire suspended on metal conduit attached to the coop and barn,
We have a mixed flock of 12 hens and 1 rooster, We're expecting to add six guinea fowl in the spring.
