Mesh end of brooder box. Hole gets cut in the mesh to make a "safe house" for little ones growing out, or door can be removed for a broody space.

Orloffs are happy in here! There is about 6-8 inches of leaves, grass clippings, mulch, etc. in the run. We put in a big branch for the chickens to roost on.

Inside (before). All we did was take out a shelf, tack up some welded wire, put down some PDZ and make a nesting box out of a cardboard box. A vent was already missing, and the girls are squishing in and out through there.
