Pictures of our horses here at Lightning T Farm! I mainly have pictures of the mares and foals now, but will be taking more of our stallion and geldings.
Thanks, Sue. The dun mare is named Bourbon, and we named her first colt Whiskey. The cutie pie you see with her, and laying in the hay, is named Amaretta. We have an alcohol-based theme going with them, sort of by accident. Whiskey is named in honor of a horse my dad had as a boy. He used to deliver the morning newspaper in Sweeny, TX back in the 1930's on horseback (in town). When he was done, he'd doze off and the horse would take him home!
The paint mare is named Shawnee, and her first colt (I need to put a picture of him up here) is named Quanah. Her newest little one is named Merallah, an Indian name my daughter found on the internet that means "born during an earthquake". Believe it or not (we didn't!) we had a string of earthquakes around here right about the time she was born. NOT fun!
I adore horses but have never owned any and the idea of earthquakes bothers me, Live on the edge of tornado ally but the ground under my feet is supose to be stable
I am sad to say that in September 2013 we were forced to move away from our family farm, and had to get rid of all of our horses and our donkeys. We basically wound up giving them away. We miss them, but we didn't have place for them anymore. They will always have a place in our hearts!!
