Two pop doors to the outside run. Clear panel roof for light. Shelf and roost. Old and shabby but works pretty well. Raised dozens and dozens of chicks in here over the years.

I can pull it up and out of the pocket slots with my left hand while holding a bucket of grain or water in my right. The cedar is light weight. Pop door shut during the day to keep the roosting pen cleaner.

Two Silkie pullets will sit in just about anything to brood. A cabinet with drawers removed and a bottomless flower pot. I islolated them in an unused trio pen to brood in peace.

My property is a half acre. House, garage, front yard. Back garden. Barnyard and barn in the orchard, and a separately fenced Potager garden. There are seven outside runs. Nine pens inside the barn. These include breeder pens and brooder pens. A chick/brooder house with run is separate from the barn. In 2013 we started building the Tudor Silkie house. Based on models I made in 1:25 scale.
