Our first six months with chickens has been fun - more pets! Lulu and Lucy are our Barred Rocks. Mildred and Matilda are Rhode Island Reds. They are laying nicely - 3 to 4 eggs a day usually even with snow on the ground. They keep each other warm in a small coop we purchased which is set up in an old 8X10 dog kennel. They have outings in the back yard most every day and keep the cats and dog on their toes. We were concerned with interactions needlessly as the chickens scare the dog and cats-none have raised a paw!
