We settled on this model because it can be fitted with Hardware cloth in the loft area for a heat light, for Ventilation or for storage of all Chickie supplies when not in use. It can also be easily fitted with a plywood base inside this coop above the roosts to raise young chicks off the ground and get them closer to a heat lamp from the loft space.
We were having trouble with ideas for a Grow Out coop until the chicks were old enough to be able to be added to the flock with out having to separate all for feeding time.
This will be easy to move. and can be used as a baby bed play pen or grow out coop.
I am also considering using it to keep meat chicks separate from my layers However I will need to make sure they have plenty of time outside of this as the space says 6 adult chickens. the measurement is for 4 sq ft per bird. I do not believe that is enough space to raise Happy Healthy Chickens. For Meat or Eggs or even as Pets.
