The little "trap door" next to the window provides easy access to the nesting boxes.
Still trying to figure out how to add some "shutters" to this large window so that the girls can be "safe" at night, but still get a nice breeze during the day.

Framing the run...my husband is such a good sport! He does NOT want these chickens! LOL!
Hoping that these little rubbermaid storage bins will serve as nice nesting boxes. I haven't seen anyone do this (there's probably a reason why!), but I like that they are removable, replaceable, and easier to clean. We'll see...worst case scenario...I've wasted $7.
We've given the girls two levels on which to roost. Hope they'll be comfy. Still trying to figure out what to do about a "poop slab" beneath the roost. Suggestions?
