Dun based cream will have a nice creamy color on the front of the feather while the back is a dull grey shade. Some feathers will have a grey core similar to the badger pattern.
Barred Ginger / Cree Hackle Bird - Bred and owned by Ken Tutalo, Beaverkill Valley Hackle. This cockerel was 7.5 months old at the time of this photo. This particular bird has some cree in both the cape and saddle Cree is a pattern that is prized by Fly Tyers. Cree is a repeating pattern of Black, Brown / Ginger and white on the same feather. Birds that have this pattern on every feather are extremely rare.
