Based on what I've read on BYC so far, it seems that this coop has inadequate ventilation. There is only 1 vent above the window at one end of the coop. NONE of the windows open. They are nailed in and caulked. See where the roof meets the side wall? There's a gap there that goes under the eaves and is closed off. I'm thinking that maybe we can redo the eaves to include an opening the entire length of the coop in front and back to allow for roof line ventilation. We also need to see how we can modify the windows to allow them to open outward from the bottom. I'm clueless here.
Back side. The nesting boxes are pulling away from wall, and there's water damage. My husband will try to reattach and caulk to see if we can prevent further water entry. Otherwise, we may need to rebuild them.
Outside view of pop door. We also received a chicken run (9'x8') that also needs a lot of work (not shown). I'd also like to paint the exterior, but I'm running out of time.
A view of the end with the pop door. For the roosts, I'm considering adding a poop board that will extend from back wall to above the pop door. The two roosts will be located at the level of the lower roost.

Looks like the upper roost is too close to the wall. Much of the poop landed there.
A view of the three nest boxes. Coop needs major cleaning. Still has old poop in it and lots of cobwebs. Eeww!
A used coop we received for free. Inside dimensions are approximately 7.4' x 3.3'. Inside height at eaves is 4' and at peak is 5'. The front windows had flower window boxes that broke during the move. They are inside the coop. Coop was raised on 4x4 but hubby had to cut off legs in order to move it.
