Aww! So cute! Great picture, that towel really adds some great contrast to the white background and bucket, makes the picture look really good. Does this hen enjoy baths? Most of mine don’t!
@Abriana she does! In this picture she's in a pretty shallow tub that I wouldn't have been able to get her in had she not cooperated. They do struggle sometimes, but after a certain point they just lie there and doze.
@sunflour LET ME TELL YOU of the time that I had to wash these chickens who who were not going to a show.
It was a nice sunny summer day and I went out to let the chickens out as usual. Happy chickens rushed out to greet the day and peck at things. But there's this hole in the feed room, and it's been there since before I could even remember. And so, I left this hole unlocked so that any raccoon that happened to smell the feed would wander in there and find the coon trap and get caught.
WELL, I forgot to block it. So I went back to the house and did stuff. Came back a few hours later and lo and behold THERE SHE WAS a chicken in my coon trap. Covered in sticky marshmallow goo (which we use to avoid catching the kitties).
Bath time for her.
So I'm all scrub-a-dub-dub got my chicken in a tub when I hear this squawking. I can see the chicken that is making the racket, and nothing seems out of place. No dog or anything. So I go back to washing.
The squawking continues.
So when I've finished marshmallow girl, I go see what the matter is.
She has a FLY STRIP stuck in her beard. So I pull it out, and there is goo all over her. So another bath. And a visit to Rusty Sissors barber shop. Of course I'm a terrible barber, so she was called half-beard until she moulted.
