Before I needed a coop I had already built a A frame to tie a rooster to because he would attack me. No wonder he only cost $8. Then I built a small coop for the chicks by just using scraps from past projects. I incorporated these into the final coop by using the Blue tin for the top and making the small coop into a nest box. I have a sliding glass on the nest box which is fun because it is so easy to check for eggs.
