I agree, my ducklings are imprinted on me because I rescued mom, pekin from an attack on her and her nest at a community college and I peeled them out of the egg and kept them in the house with me. Mom sleeps on the back porch and I am trying to get them used to the outside house and run but they are used to freedom and checking everything out. I let them come in when it gets dark they come through the doggy door and I let them come in the house till bedtime them it is out to an enclosed porch. They don't like going back there although it is everything they need but they still want to be with me(mom)
Love it! I had my ducklings in the house for a month. Then it was out to the yard and garage coop with the moms and dads. I do wish ducks were a little less messy!
I did order duck diapers but they didn't work for the shape of my ducklings, actually pet diapers I bought did better but now they love to play with them and tear them up. I put down plastic table cloths because they are easy to clean up any mess and the gel training pads really absorb water in case they want to play in their drinking water. Do they still want to come in with you?
