Skylight for letting light in. With the direction the coop is oriented, they should be getting maximum daylight exposure. The ventilation is situated under the tin overhang, the windows and door at the front and above the wall at the back.

The dotted line between the coops shows that it's actually an open wall making the coops 12'x8' edit: It looks like Mike's changing his mind about the next building. Seems he feels it should be a Livery rather than a cathouse...

Great Coop . It looks like one of the old west building from gun smoke .Are you planing on adding other things like a chicken corral or water trough.

I hadn't thought of the water trough, though we do have feed troughs in the back in the run, now. LOL
