Sorry guys but My blue cochin was feeling jumpy. the pics are not top-quality. The big white specs on her bum are places where her feathers are SUPPOSED to be growing in. The buff orphington is my chicken who I'm a little suspicious that she has something. If you need pics of inside her feathers, please notify me via forum.
since she has mites, do I have to clean out the chickens' entire coop? how quickly can the others get it? I live in MN so it would be hard to clean out their coop untill it warms up... We just got 1/2 an inch of snow, so, yeah...
Yes it is 100% Natural and if you can't clean out the entire coop then I would at least dust it very well once a week until you can. Make sure to get where she sleeps really well to. Also the other hens most likely already have some. So I would dust them too.
I hit mine if not every day then every other with the D.E. It does not hurt them so there is risk. When applying it you don't really want to breathe it in though. The mites should be gone within days but in case of any eggs hatching that is why you should reapply until you can get the coop cleaned out. Don't worry though, mites are VERY common, especially in the winter time!
