Hello,

I'm new to the fold (sorry for the bad pun) and I'm just learning how to raise chickens.

So far, I have an Americana, a White Plymouth and a Barred Rock. I had a Rhode Island Red (my favorite) for three days, but she didn't make it. Broke my heart. Hate to admit it, but I cried like a baby when she passed. Was she perhaps too young?

Anyway, I'm enjoying reading all the new posts. So, far my "trio" have bonded nicely and love their new set up. Currently, they are "boarding" in my bathtub. I have a plastic box with branches where they can roost and sleep. Another area is designated for their drinking water. Another spot is for their feed, and then they have the rest of the tub to roam and play.

I'm thinking ahead in terms of the right chicken coup to house them. Our backyard is fairly good sized, but the choices are endlesss in terms of how much room they actually need?

Any advice for this "newbie?"

Thank you.
