Ducklings can drown! This duckling got lower and lower and lower as I carefully supervised him over about thirty minutes. The water was warm and he wasn't worried - he was paddling slowly and calmly. I was worried.... so shortly after this picture I took him out. The water was getting close to his nostrils.
This is Cinnamon. She her juvenile plumage is almost all in, except for the fuzz remnants.
This is Crocus as a juvenile with his feathers just starting to come out.
