Here are Deedee and her girlfriends. There's Beatrix, an orange eater egger, Phyllis, a black star/black sexlink, and Marilyn, a white leghorn with a huge comb that covers her right eye completely. I got breeds that lay different color eggs so that I would be able to tell who laid what eggs. That has been fun!
Four new pullets, all of different breeds I didn't have yet! One New Hampshire Red, one Barred Rock, one golden sexlink, and one Australorp. Here they are in their new 2x4 coop. Their roost has inner tube wrapped around it too.
Early 2015: The coop is done, the hens are moved in! Still working on enclosing the chicken yard with 6-8 ft high fences/trellises. Here one part is still a make-shift curtain.
The door to the chicken yard needed a sign and an eggstraordinary latch... :0)

I had had this great old door for a few years, also a free Craigslist find. It became the door to the chicken yard.
Once I had built "Deedee's Inn", the original little tractor coop/run became the "Mini Inn".
Here you can see the two round windows, one on either end of the coop.
