hi all, I am wondering what the statistics are of having a large number of albino chicks hatch in one clutch? I am presuming this is pretty rare. We set 27 eggs and have hatched 6 albinos and a few incomplete albino chicks. albinos2 sm.jpg The father is a mixed breed which has been selected for good egg production, while the hen is an auracana cross. This all happened this week and this afternoon I had an interview with a reporter from the local paper. i have no idea if this is rare or pretty common as I am new to chookworld. :)
albinos2 sm.jpg they do exist... :) We have just hatched 6! Some appear to be the incomplete albino as they have slight touch of pigment, while most are pure white. Good fun and an awesome adventure for us novices in chookland
