I searched all over the web and made phone calls trying to find a local L.A. place who sells rolls of sturdy cage wire, but couldn't find a place locally, so I drove an hour to Corona to pick up a 100-foot roll, 6 feet tall, of 14 gauge "kennel quality" metal fence wire.

Yikes, thankfully the roll didn't fly out of my trunk on the hour drive home through L.A. traffic down the 210 freeway. We secured it well.
This roll weighs 200 pounds! It took 3 big guys an hour to get this roll secured into my poor chevelle's trunk They had to strap it in with ratchet straps, and loop it all through my cars frame beneath the license plate. When I got home, it took 2 guys and a big dolly to get this thing in the yard. I used only a fraction of the roll for my 8'x5' coop. The rest sits beneath my avocado tree.

Project "bury cage wire" complete! Phew! That was a lot of work! And when it's done, it feels great and so worth it!
