Skylight for letting light in. With the direction the coop is oriented, they should be getting maximum daylight exposure. The ventilation is situated under the tin overhang, the windows and door at the front and above the wall at the back.
This is the side that will have the nesting boxes. That's why you see the open area at the bottom. They've not been built and attached, yet.
The side that will be adjoining the next coop has been painted and completed.
The floor has been sealed to help prevent mold and mildew and other such wonderful things.
