Long story short....I have lots of reading to do on separating and integrating flock. In less than 5 minutes this morning my rooster went in cage I opened and killed 1 of my pullets from last batch I incubated and hatched. So now I am onto getting everybody separated until I know lots more. Priorities change hourly around here.
Momma out with adults and teenagers in new enclosed pen. Yes, I have lots of reading and educating to do. Separation, integration, new pens, new nesting areas, expansion project.....

Momma hen bringing out new babies for first time. She is being a good little momma so far.
After momma hen got off nest, I removed it. No life in remaining eggs. 1 unfertilized, 3 with developed chicks. Will crack open and investigate later. No time right now. Gotta help with new pen construction.
Moma hen got out of nest this morning while I was gone to pick up materials and welder to build new pen. There are 7 live, healthy babies. All seem happy even with the new construction underway.
