Looking into the coop from the storage area. I did not have much door experience, so after looking at many doors on BYC, I came up with this idea for a screen door. It is cut out of 1/2" pressed wood and reinforced with ripped 2x4's and covered in hardware cloth.

The window above the next box was but in "backwards" so that it can be opened and closed from the outside.
There are 2 glass windows in the shack and 3 shuttered, screened windows. On the back side we put in metal air vents from Restore so there is always ventalation, even if all windows are closed. There are lots of cracks due to the pallet planks being uneven, we are filling the cracks with log home chinking.

Looking from the coop into the storage area. We tried to make it as light and with plenty of ventalation as possible. The interior wall is half inclosed and half hardware just for this purpose.
The pop door which can be opened from the outside and the nesting boxes from the inside. The dark trim board along the bottom the Shack is "alley pickup" from a cabinet maker in town. It is damaged and cut-offs from counter tops. With the lineloum floor and the countertop baseboard all caulked in, we are hoping the floor will be pretty moisture proof.
We covered the inside walls with a laminated, white utility room planeling. Then covered all mistakes and bad saw cuts of the paneling with more of the pallet planks used as trim and painted white. The poop deck another BYC idea is filled with Sweet PDZ for easy litter scooping. When needed the bottom of the poop deck can be screened in as a brooder for new chicks.
How it looks when opened up for light and breeze. When using the left over steel we had for the roof, we did not have all the right pieces and parts, so we just extended the steel panels over the edge and screwed them down. From an airplane you would see the roof is 2 colors of steel....that is what happens when using leftovers!
