Looks like she was sitting on a dozen. 1 pipped, 5 others heavy enough felt like they had chicks in shell. No eggtopsy.
Momma hen that hatched 5 & had 3 more migrate to her are all integrating well with flock. Pic is over a week old. Have lost 5 to a fox last week when I let them out one day and had to leave. :(
Momma hen #2 hatched out 6 of 12 eggs (on left). Momma hen #3 (on right) hatched out 3 of 6 eggs. After first day off nest for momma #3 the babies all migrated to momma #2. They could not get back up to nest. So I just grabbed 3 of them and put in nest. 1 stuck to momma #3. The other 2 migrated back to hen #2. So all 9 alive between both momma hens. Chicken math much more favorable for me the natural way.

Momma hen in wire cage hatched out a 6 pack.
Momma hen with babies has left the babies. She is roosting w/o babies. They still get in nest box.

Momma hen in left with 7 babies. Hen on right has been sitting since March 8th. She is on 6 eggs total. 4 are too old to hatch I think, we'll see. These are first time hens. Momma with babies has set a good example.
