Sorry for the awful picture. I put vinyl netting on the rafters to keep the girls from roosting up there, they were getting poop everywhere. I'm trying to contain the majority of the mess under the roosting bars for cleaning purposes.
I was looking at ways to discourage my flock from roosting in my rafters (instead of their roosting bar) and pooping ALL of the floor, your pictures came up. Great idea with the mesh fencing on the rafters. Thanks for sharing

How did things go with putting mesh on the rafters? I am worried my chickens will not see the mesh/chicken wire and still try to get up in the rafters and hurt themselves.
