My Amish coop.... this is where it all began. I saw this coop in a magazine and couldn't resist buying it, after I convinced my husband that we needed to raise chickens. We had started with 15 chickens.. we are currently up to 30 chickens, with 15 guinea hens being delivered this coming week, along with a hen that has gone broody on us and we are letting her sit on the eggs. It's going to be crazy around our farm for a while.
The top one is from a Silver Laced Wyandotte. The bottom one is either from a buff orpington, barred rock or my only true Rhode Island red.
My husband picked these up at a Farm and Tractor supply store. He thought they were RIRs but I think they are Red Productions... perhaps a mix between RIR and buff orpingtons. No mater what, they are mighty cute.

Elvis, my Black Copper Marans rooster.. that I picked up for a very nice lady in the town near me. He's beautiful and does this little jig around the hens.
My Silver Laced Wyandottes from Cackle Hatchery.. These chickens are a year old and are laying a small to medium size egg. Their egg is a very light brown.. a good term to describe them is that they are "tinted".
