No Wayyyyy!!! At age SEVEN weeks, ALL five were crowing. The chance of having five roosters from five eggs is 3%. Does this mean I should immediately go to Vegas or definitely not...? Fortunately, a local poultry farmer had 300 young hens and wanted all five. Phew. They went off, and I decided I would get new (sexed) chicks after summer travels.

August 2015: I got four new chicks from Dare2Dream Farm in Lompoc, CA. Then the Easter Egger turned out to be a roo (What is it with me and roosters...??), and they gave me a little New Hampshire Red to make up for his maleness.
Here are Deedee (the grey one in the middle), with orange Beatrix, Phyllis in the front, and Marilyn on the right.

Five new chicks! They were incubated in the Kindergarten classroom, and needed a home at the end of the school year in early June 2015.
Deedee's Inn today, Nov 2 2015, after a year and a half of fun construction! The five 3-mo-old chickens (four pullets and one accidental cockerel) sleep in the 2x4 coop on the left, and the four older hens sleep in the bigger 4x4 coop on the right. They share 80 sq. ft of enclosed run space plus a fenced-in chicken yard. I am curious to see if the younger ones will eventually try to move into the bigger coop with the older ones!
Access from fully enclosed run to the 4x4 coop. The hens fly up to the roost which is at about 33" high, then walk up the little ramp.
