Not much to report. All doing good. Checker peckers should start breeding and laying anytime. Gathering eggs couple times a week. Cripple chicken getting around a lot better, maybe leg will heal enough she can use it somewhat.
Red hen hatched out 3. Black hen hatched 8 & 1 is already missing. Red hen's are about 10 days old. And black hen's are about 3 days old. Will post better pics of chicks soon.
Built new brooder house. Holds 2 hens.
Unexpectedly, 2 hens started sitting. Just thought I was busy.

Came and opened hen house on Monday morning and one of large red hens had hurt leg. Observed for awhile. Looks like leg is hurt and not foot. Since then she has been using one leg and flying/fluttering to and from coop. She is still eating and drinking. Not sure what happened.
Going to have to rename this flock. We sold pig. Too much trouble. Chickens seem happy about it.
I brought over 2 healthy mixed teenagers. Eagle feather did not make it, footed brown feather did. All others looking good so far. Somebody is laying. Had 8 eggs in last few days. Definitely on list to fix nesting area.
