This is not a Buff Orpington as I thought! Blondie is what they call a New Ameraucana. No wonder green eggs. She is definitely the dominant chicken. She harasses the other hens. I had to move my barred rock to the other side of the coop and separate Blondie out because she is so mean spirited. Luckily Big Boy has her minding her manners!
We suspend our feeders to keep mice out and pine shavings out. We use a large planter box to hold several gallons of fresh water, which comes in handy especially during the hot summer days we have had.
This lively group was at Artpeeps meeting and barbecue in 2008. We were founded in 2005. As of 2013 we are still going strong!

The coop became a central feature of the yard, not some cage in a back corner.
Our community art projects have included everything from making sidewalks, to building ponds, to erecting coops. This was our coop 7 years ago. It is now twice that size.
