Put the Ideal 30 pack outside on ground couple days ago. They very much enjoyed it. Can't wait to get them in the hen house and new enclosed pen.
Pulled the wire cage in hen house to clean out and put Ideal chicks in it. Found trails and holes in dirt under cage. Don't know if it's mice/rats, snake or what. Whatever it is, is digging under metal wall to get in.
1.5" from Sunday night & Monday. 5.9" from last night. More on way.
Main flock free ranging down to 3 hens I hatched that are 4-5 months old, 2 adult roos, 1st hatchling hen from October 2015 and 1 rooster 4-5 months old. Other 2 old hens sitting on nest and 1 has babies.

Put new hatchling in with 2 week old Ideal chicks this afternoon. Watched them for a couple hours. Nobody picking on newbie... Newbie was eating and drinking water today b4 I put in with 30 pack. (Finger on left of photo pointing to newbie.)
All the little ones doing good. Everybody getting along. Hope I am not speaking to soon!! I have read a few horror stories about letting all the chickens run together. Momma hen has been taking chicks out of new enclosed pen for a few days now. So I have been on hawk duty...
