Red - Rhode Island Red - at about 6 months old Red is the boss! Smart, cunning, brave. She sometimes comes when called, rarely "submits" to me (instead squats and tries to "crawl" away). The best layer! From day 1 she laid huge, beautiful, red/brown eggs consistently! She is sweet, but if you make her mad... she will let you know it. She will tolerate the neighbors' big dog (friendly as all get out) but will put him in his place with a peck on his nose if he gets too close.
