The yearly tea collecting begins... Starting with St Johns wort and mint... Soon to move on to yellow and purple clover then on to Oregon grape leaves/berries and roots. Then on to Hawthorn berries and last but not least in early October after the first freeze we move on to elderberries.
I use the yellow and purple clover in tea mixes. I harvest wild here, there is so much growing natural not much a of reason to bother growing teas myself. I can and actually did one year harvest St Johns wort by the truckload.
The box just seemed a way to catch any flowers or leafs that fell off. This is the first year I used a box, in the past I have always hung the bundles from the wood beams in the house to dry them. Looks cool old fashioned and homey but it leads to a lot of debris and detritus on the wood floors which is not popular with the wife..
lots growing wild here, I've never taken the time to collect and dry. drying in ireland is a problem. takes longer, particularly if one does not have great set up to dry in. the teas sound wonderful.
