Mama Bourbon Red Turkey hen with her clutch. Unfortunately, mama and babies were wiped out by a pair of bald eagles.
This guinea hen, our only one at the time, hatched 27 keets. I had never heard of such a thing. She managed to raise 15 of them, all of whom took up roosts in the pecan outside my bedroom window, so they could play alarm clock at 4am every morning.
