The nesting boxes are 5 gallon buckets cut in 1/2 with the sealed end toward the front and the open end toward the back to allow for egg gathering. The Second Coop I built out of old store shelving we bought at the flea market for $2 a piece old 4X4s make up the yard under the dirt is old farm fence to keep out predators old pvc used to hold the chicken wire up for the yard, the chickens have the ability to go beneath the coop for more yard area, We enclose all our coops due to the owls and hawks in our area has well we are an abused dog rescue and this protects the chickens from the dogs on property
the last coop I built out of old white pin store shelving we picked up from a flea market for $2 a shelf an old palate is the base we used old 4X4s to outline the coop yard we used old pvc to support the chicken wire other then the cost of Chicken wire this coop cost $33 will take current pics soon with the roof complete but still need to paint it.
My First Coop, Made from an old above ground pool frame some left over wood and tin from roofing a pole barn the paint was a returned color at home depot the whole gallon for $5 our neice hand painted the Foghorn Leghorn and chicken hawk on the coop.
