Their first night on a real roost!
It seems to meet everyone's approval.
The girls just got moved into their new Shack. So much brighter and cooler than the slapped together area in the barn where they had been living.

All of the shuttered windows and the Restore window are covered with this open diamond plate screening that we got from the salvage yard. This is about as predator proof as we could get.
The exterior nesting box plans were from the many different versions that I looked at on BYC. There are 4 nests accessible from the outside for gathering eggs.
The interior wall separates the coop part from the food & storage part of the Shack. We used some weather barrier around the outside of the Shack that was left over from our barn project. The walls and ceiling are fully insulated using leftovers from a "buddy's" remodel project.
