You can (obviously) see where we added on. The chicken ramp was a fun project for my hubby and youngest daughter. She got to help screw on the cleats. Yes, that's big when you are seven. The orange line? Cable wire. Even marked, we still cut through it. Hey, we are never for a lack of entertainment around here....
Our youngest cleaning the coop. She begged. Yes, begged to clean it. Let's see how long that lasts! It's not great for middle aged backs to work in there (I'm 25 plus shipping and handling) but it works. The chicks have room to roost as well as wander around aimlessly waiting for us to bring out the apples.
Work begins on the addition. Please don't check it for square or any other signs of perfection. The hubby and son worked hard to get it ready for chicks. And it is just as sturdy as the original coop. If one screw is good, four more ought to do it. God help us if we ever need to take it down....

The inside was small. And tall. Sorta. The only was in was by lifting up what was the roof. Both side were hinged but very, very heavy. Not an ideal situation. And the roosting bar was straight down the middle. No nesting boxes and it would have only house 4 chickens max. Time to get out the sawzall.
The coop in it's final spot in the yard. Took 6 people to lift it over the fence. It's a sturdy thing. Darren rolled it over on it's side (on accident) before it even got loaded in the truck. No damage done. Well that's a good thing. So after circling and circling and circling around it, plans were drawn up. Additions needed to be made and definitely painting was in order. But it had good bones so all was good.
Playing on the living room floor. No carpet! And a good thing too!
