This is my current flock of 6. The three one year old hens are producing about 18 eggs per week, while the three new chicks have yet to be integrated into the flock. The lemon orpington and one of the lavendar amercaunas are most likely roosters, and will be rehomed once they begin to cros.
Patty is a beautiful Barnvelder, who almost daily lays a nice, glossy brown egg. I am not sure whether her skittish personality is a result of being the main target of the boss hen, or if she is targeted because she is so jumpy. She is a very good flyer when provoked, having once flown an entire loop around the outside of the garage at 6' off the ground.
A typical barred rock, Marge is Large and In Charge! She always comes running when I call, and is always ready to dish out reprimands for the most minor of crimes. If her flockmates call her a dog, it's because she can be a real ***** sometimes.
Selma was bought as a "blue orpington" pullet who is a lovely shade of black. The easiest of all the girls to catch, Selma is too large to go anywhere very quickly! She's very quiet, calm, and the #2 to the barred rock.
