We have one older chicken (one of our 3yr old chickens) that is laying strange, long eggs. You can see the 3.5oz egg in the back.
Here's the 3.5oz egg cracked open.... the egg yolks were huge.

My Amish coop.... this is where it all began. I saw this coop in a magazine and couldn't resist buying it, after I convinced my husband that we needed to raise chickens. We had started with 15 chickens.. we are currently up to 30 chickens, with 15 guinea hens being delivered this coming week, along with a hen that has gone broody on us and we are letting her sit on the eggs. It's going to be crazy around our farm for a while.
The top one is from a Silver Laced Wyandotte. The bottom one is either from a buff orpington, barred rock or my only true Rhode Island red.
