We put pea gravel and sand in the run. Of course, now they have dug and stirred dirt into all of it, but I really like the sand in there, helps it dry out quicker and keeps it from becoming a sloppy mess when it rains.

Finally done! Took about a month after getting the chickens to finish all of the trim work/painting/finishing touches. Put up some solar motion sensing security lights on the front and back sides for when we have to run out there at night, and hopefully to scare away any critters that might try to decide to take a closer look.

Used 2 dish tubs for the nesting boxes, very easy to pull out and clean, and they have had no problems using them.
Inside of the coop, still a work in progress at this point. We have since added a poop board under the upper roosting bar (one of the best things we've done!) and bracket to hang a feeder below the poop board.
