Do you just sow the seeds in this and keep them damp with a paper towel or what? Have seeds and 2 of these and I would like to do my chickens some of this for the winter. VERY good idea but would love some info on how you do this in the tub?
@RoseMarie1 There is an article and a hilarious thread here on BYC about how to grow fodder in a fodder-tower: https://www.backyardchickens.com/ar...odder-tower-with-dollar-tree-dish-bins.75190/
I built myself a tower for 11 bins and it takes about two weeks before i can feed it to my ducks. My fodder tower is standing in the garage (frost-free) and due to the lower temperatures there the wheat is growing slower than described in the article. I take 1 or 2 bins from the garage into our guest-room so that they grow to the final size and feed ½ bin every evening to my 24 ducks.

Hi. Do you just pull it up from.the bin and then pull it apart to feed? Root mattress and all? I have 20 fluffy butts in my flock and would like to try this for them. Is it too late for this winter?
